ABOUT NEW DAWN
New Dawn started as a gift. I built the first version for my family — an alarm nobody could silence from under the covers, because the only thing that stops it is getting up and starting your day. It worked. We got up. Mornings stopped being a negotiation.
Then the morning alarm became something we looked forward to — for us and for our kids. An alarm shouldn't be alarming. Change how the day begins and you change how the whole day feels.
The quiet of early morning is where we've found our peace. Waking with the natural rhythm of nature, just how God intended. The quiet hours in the morning makes room to hear Him and what he has planned for your life.
So now this app is our gift to the public: a way to wake up with the earth and become closer to God.

Because willpower at 6 a.m. is a myth. Standing up is the hard part of waking; the scan makes standing up non-negotiable. A commitment device, made kind.
It's registered with the system like Apple's Clock, so force-quitting, silent mode, and Focus can't stop it. An alarm you can quietly defeat isn't an alarm.
Birds fall silent when predators are near, so a singing forest is evolution's all-clear. Waking inside birdsong tells your nervous system it's safe; a siren says something's wrong at the first second of your day.
The interface brightens with your real morning and darkens at your real dusk, because your body clock is set by light and the screen shouldn't argue with the sun.
The strongest lever in sleep science is waking at the same time every day. The Consistency Score measures weekend drift ("social jetlag"), and the Sleep Debt tracker counts missing hours against your target — the two numbers most worth knowing.
Bedtime is for casting cares (1 Peter 5:7), morning is for gratitude. Prayer measurably lowers stress hormones and interrupts worry loops; scripturally, sleep itself is an act of trust (Psalm 4:8, 127:2).
A complete, public-domain translation, so the whole Bible ships inside the app with chapter summaries and book histories — no accounts, no paywalls, no permission slips.
You can have five more minutes, but you type out a kind sentence first. The point isn't punishment; it's starting the day with something good in your head instead of a mindless tap.
The alarm can be set quieter for a shared bed, but never below 25%, and it can swell gently instead of detonating. Kind to the sleeper, kinder to the person beside them.
